My Approach
I believe that throughout our lives we are seeking to deepen our self-awareness, learn & grow from our experiences, and aim to break patterns of behavior that are no longer benefiting us. While we’re doing the best we can with the knowledge we have, there may be times when we may need additional support or assistance. I understand the complexities that come with exploring our inner world and believe it takes a lot of bravery, strength, & vulnerability to peel back the curtain and take a look inside; especially when the idea of doing so feels scary, confusing, or impossible.
My expertise is in individual counseling for adolescents, adults, and folks who have been exposed to, and/or are survivors of trauma. I enjoy working with teens and young adults as they navigate major life transitions, those who may be struggling with mood or behavioral issues, and youth who may be experiencing difficulties at home or with a parent/primary caregiver. I employ an integrative approach to counseling, meaning that I utilize various methods of therapy in my work to ensure each clients’ treatment is uniquely tailored to appropriately meet their needs. These methods include, but are not limited to, the following:
Brainspotting & other trauma-focused interventions
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
Psychodynamic & Attachment-Based interventions
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) & Cognitive Processing (CPT) Therapy
Collaborative Problem Solving & Solution-Focused Therapy
Emotion-Focused Therapy
Person-Centered & Relational Therapy
Strengths-Based & Positive Psychology
Motivational Interviewing
